What TM.7 is
TM.7 is the application to extend stay in Thailand under any Non-Immigrant visa (Non-B, Non-O, Non-ED, Non-OA/OX, LTR, Elite, DTV, Smart) or a 30-day Tourist visa extension. Filed at the Immigration Office of your registered address.
TM.7 fees
Government fee is flat THB 1,900 per filing, regardless of the extension length (30/60/90 days or 1 year). Supporting documents differ: Retirement O-A needs THB 800,000 bank statement, Marriage O needs marriage certificate + spouse's tabien baan, Non-B needs previous Work Permit + employer financials.
When to file
File 30–45 days before expiry. Filing too early forces Immigration to restart the count from filing day (wasting current visa). Filing after expiry triggers overstay at THB 500/day up to THB 20,000 and a re-entry ban of 1–10 years.
TM.7 vs TM.86 vs TM.87
TM.7 = extend the same visa class. TM.86 = change visa class inside Thailand while already holding a Non-Immigrant visa. TM.87 = convert a 30-day exemption or Tourist visa into a Non-Immigrant class — THB 2,000 fee, requires at least 15 days remaining.
'Under Consideration' stamp explained
If your documents are complete but Immigration needs verification (e.g. 3-month retrospective bank check for Retirement), you receive an Under Consideration stamp for 30 days. You cannot leave Thailand during that period without a Re-entry Permit. Return after 30 days for the final decision.
