Where can I get a Notary Public in Bangkok, Thailand and what is the process?
Thailand has no US-style Notary Public. Notarial acts are performed by Notarial Services Attorneys licensed by the Lawyers Council of Thailand. NYC Legal keeps 7 licensed notarial attorneys in its Bangkok office and handles signature authentication, certified true copies, affidavits and powers of attorney, then carries the file through MFA and embassy legalization.

- The original document to be notarized (unsigned if the signature is being witnessed)
- Valid passport or Thai ID card of every signatory
- Company affidavit issued within 6 months when signing for a company
- An English translation when the receiving country requires English

- Send the draft so we can check the destination country's formatting rules first
- Book an office appointment, or remote online notarization where accepted
- Sign in front of the notarial attorney with your identity document
- The attorney signs, seals and attaches the notarial certificate
- We forward the file to the Department of Consular Affairs and the destination embassy when required

- Never pre-sign a document that needs witnessed signing
- Name spelling must match the passport exactly, character for character
- Notarization alone is rarely enough for overseas use — most countries also require MFA plus embassy legalization
