VOA — 15 days, THB 2,000, 18 nationalities. P.30 — 30 days, free, 64 nationalities (US/UK/EU/AU/JP/KR/SG). Tourist Visa TR — 60 days, applied at consulate abroad, THB 1,000–2,000. Choose by nationality and length of stay.
Can VOA be extended?
Yes — one 30-day extension at Immigration (TM.7 + THB 1,900), total max 45 days. Then exit, or apply TM.87 to convert to Non-Immigrant (needs 15 days remaining).
Common VOA counter problems
(1) Denied for missing outbound ticket — fix: refundable ticket. (2) Denied for insufficient cash — fix: credit card + bank statement. (3) 60–120 min queue at peak — fix: VOA Fast Track (THB 500). (4) Overstay history queried — call attorney.
