Why Indian nationals need a Thai Police Clearance
Indian residents in Thailand for 6+ months are typically required by India authorities to submit a "country of residence" police-clearance certificate â most commonly for Permanent Residency application in India, Work-visa renewal or naturalisation in India, Cross-border marriage registration in India.
The Special Branch (Criminal Investigation Division, Royal Thai Police) is the only issuing authority for foreign residents; fingerprinting is mandatory for every application.
India accepts Thai documents that complete the CID + MFA + India Embassy chain.
