MFA Regulation on Document Certification B.E. 2539 (1996)

Why translate the Thai PCC?

The Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division (CID) issues Police Clearance Certificates only in Thai. Before use overseas, the certificate must be translated into the destination country's official language, and the translation must be certified — otherwise MFA legalisation cannot proceed. Every foreign authority (USCIS, IRCC, UK Home Office, Australian DHA, Japanese Immigration Services, etc.) will reject an uncertified translation.

Our translation standards

Every translator at NYC Legal is registered with the Thai MFA Department of Consular Affairs and has passed language + Thai law examinations. Translations use MFA-approved templates showing PCC serial number, issue date, CID authority block, imprint of original seal, translator signature and stamp. We support 40+ languages: English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, Tagalog, Khmer, Burmese, Lao, Hindi, Tamil, and more.

FAQ

How many countries accept the translation?

Our certified translations are accepted by every embassy and government body that recognises Thai MFA legalisation (195+ countries) — or an Apostille (for Hague members, effective 14 Feb 2026).

Does the translation expire?

The translation itself does not expire, but the underlying PCC is typically valid 3-6 months depending on the receiving authority. When the original expires, a new PCC and fresh translation are required.

How fast can I get it, and is rush available?

Standard 2-3 business days. 24-hr express: +THB 500. Same-day 4-hr rush (Thai↔English only): +THB 1,500.

Do I need the original PCC to start?

No — a high-resolution colour scan is enough to begin translation. The original is required only when the file is submitted for MFA legalisation, because MFA checks the CID embossed seal.

What if there's a translation error?

We guarantee our translations 100%. Any error is corrected free of charge and a revised certified copy is reissued immediately.
