Why Taiwanese nationals need a Thai Police Clearance
Taiwanese residents in Thailand for 6+ months are typically required by Taiwan authorities to submit a "country of residence" police-clearance certificate — most commonly for Permanent Residency application in Taiwan, Work-visa renewal or naturalisation in Taiwan, Cross-border marriage registration in Taiwan.
The Special Branch (Criminal Investigation Division, Royal Thai Police) is the only issuing authority for foreign residents; fingerprinting is mandatory for every application.
Taiwan accepts Thai documents that complete the CID + MFA + Taiwan Embassy chain.
